Information about Shading for Architects
The new thematics of our website was inspired by the intention to deliver You – architects and interior designers – a professional site, where we have the opportunity to share information with you from time to time, may it be the introduction of new products, reports about our newest – and possibly interesting – works and general topics regarding shading.

Our shaders can be separated into two families, Horiso and Solonia. The SOLONIA family contains all shaders which are not typified products, but ones that are always matched to the current building and architectural ideas. Our engineers often spend long hours designing these structures.
Back in the beginning of the 90s, we often faced the fact that architects did not have any acquired knowledge about shading. Fortunately we do not come across this problem in our practice any more. The question we come across now is how they can convince the laic customers about the importance of shading.
This special Canopy structure was installed on the new Clinic building of the University of Szeged. The device is meant to provide shading for the openings that face the inner court between the annexes of the H shaped building.
It is a common misconception that rail guided exterior venetian blinds with beaded slats are more durable then their cable guided, flat slatted counterparts. This misconception is why so many otherwise demanding buildings have skewed blinds with broken slats. But what is the reason why the seemingly weaker slats can withstand impact better?
Whether we think about it or not, mosquitoes exist and they sting. Of course we could say that they will be controlled, that our house is not lying by the lake or riverside, that we are going to close the windows at night etc., but soon we will see that insects do not care for these excuses. For external venetian blinds we can differentiate between 5 levels of demand, regardless of the shape of the slats and guide type. As a demonstration of the levels, we take a look at the requirements for a cable guided, flexible principle flat slat.

In the Even Hall of the Bálna, we applied the Krüllung Solonia AL-3000-AF 190 a motorized shader type to shade 76 triangles and rectangles. All the fins are mounted in the interior, can be tilted around their axis. The movement of the fins is motor-operated and controlled via computer.
Textile blinds got a leading role in the shading of the Gresham Palace when it was renovated. As we usually do in the case of historical buildings, we have developed custom solutions together with the designer that allowed us to reach a comfort level in the interior, worthy of the hotel’s high standard, but still leave as little trace on the building as possible.
The building complex, which includes the Páva Street Synagogue has got a glass tower on its inner court which may not induce anyone to connect it with the idea of shading. Still one of the roles for the imbricated, insulated glass panels between the slanted stone columns in the glazed entry hall of the permanent exhibition is exactly that: shading.
It was an exceptional opportunity to work on this building. Thanks to the close cooperation with the architects, we managed to implement a complex shading concept, the elements of which fit both the architectural image of the existing and the new parts of the building, and the requirements of the interior.
Internal space of the control tower got custom developed, glare controlling internal roller blinds. These structures are special in many ways; they are 5 meters wide and overlapped, the special foils have a trapezoidal shape, the blinds move in a slanted plane, and are cable guided.
